Although this may sound ridiculous, these photos make me very sentimental!!! Emotions run high during weddings and are contagious, I always feel emotionally drained after planning a wedding and usually physically as well, but also extremely proud, simply that the couple are happy, drinking champagne and smiling, that is the true payment for this job!!!

Denise Eleftheriou....the designer of Thessalonica.

Today I am featuring the work of a designer based in Thessalonica, trained in Milan, after a long stint in working for companies in Italy, she finally made the decision to move back to her home town. After a few years of working in the industry over here, she began her own label.

She never had any intention of designing wedding dresses, however after experiencing what was on offer in the country a few years ago when a close friend was choosing what to wear, Denise saw a gap in the market for more fashion forward dresses that were lighter, more modern and less 80's reference.

Yiorgos Eleftheriades....fashion designer...

Today's collection of oh so beautiful wedding dresses, designed by Greek fashion designer Yiorgos Eleftheriades, who has been in the industry for the last years and is well recognised for his work around the world. I love his approach to designing, he likes classics with a twist, transitional items that can be worn during the day and then styled for the evening. To me this is what fashion is NOW, especially in this economic climate, it is imperative that the items we buy are versatile and easy to wear and style up or down, depending on our requirement.

So on to his lovely bridal dresses:

I absolutely love the 50's skirt with the transparent polka dots, simply fabulous! And the last 20's inspired dress is also absolutely timeless and elegant. It would look amazing during the first dance!

So, it's nearly the end of May, it's been a seriously strange month in this country, we still have no government, few tourists, cool weather, but summer IS just around the corner, and there is no doubt about that!!!! So we are looking forward to days on the beach, summer evenings with cocktails, eating our meals al fresco and switching to our light summer wardrobe!!!

Summer weddings are also beginning, so lots to look forward to!

Today I am featuring this fabulous Spanish designer, who makes these lovely, light, almost cotton looking gowns that are just ideal for a summer wedding!! And I love them all!!
