The Reception.....Part 2

Our final post on this completely to die for wedding completes the working week and is the perfect way to welcome the weekend, think dancing, drinking, laughing and perfect surroundings, this is actually the recipe to a successful event!!!

So without further ado...

The bride was truly radiant and danced the night away!

The couple passed around sparklers that were a great success!!!

Dancing took place on the rooftop of another house, overlooking the bay, with twinkling lights overhead, truly magical!

The brides younger sister (also incredibly pretty) caught the bouquet, I have yet to hear if she is now getting married!!

Remember the surprise I mentioned, well the girl in the green (the bride's sister) got a whole group together and they learnt the dance that plays at the end of the film Slumdog Millionaire, it was such a great finale to the evening!

I am so, so pleased that I was given the opportunity to work with this couple, it was such a pleasure and I enjoyed every moment of the planning!!!!
A special thanks to Antonis Giannelis who captured all the photos I have shown over the last few days, he is very talented and I do believe this was his best work to date!! I look forward to working on many more weddings with him in the future!

The Reception.....Part 1

Good afternoon all,

Continuing with the post on the fantastic wedding that took place in Lindos village in Rhodes last May, we move on to the most fabulous part of the day and that is of course the reception/party! The venue chosen for this was a 16th century mansion in the centre of the village offering incredible views across the bay and the castly overhead, it really doesn't get any better than this!

The bride & groom make their entrance to the reception!

We set out pictures of the guests on a washing line that also served as table number cards, guests loved the idea!

A jazz band flown in all the way from Lebanon played the bride and groom's favourite song, "fly me to the moon" at dusk, this was a surprise for the groom, who couldn't believe his eyes when he saw them!

The guestbook and favour table welcomed guests as they made their way in to the garden. The small ouches contained three freshly baked cookies and were a great success!

The food was incredible both to look at and to eat, we ensured that the presentation was very rustic in order to fit in with the surroundings!

The tables were oblong with rustic wooden chairs and a centrepiece of lavender and a second of peach peonies, roses, hydrangea's and fruit, they were so fitting to the venue!

A close up of one of the rustic centrepieces!

I have one final update of this wedding that I will post tomorrow, that is of the dancing and festivities that took place after dinner, plus the surprise the bride's sisters planned that is soooooo cool!!!!

The location shoot.....

Good morning all,

We are continuing the posts on the fabulous wedding, organised by SP Weddings on the island of Rhodes!

This is a short shoot of the couple walking through the picturesque village of Lindos to the reception venue, although it wasn't a planned shoot, I think the shots were drop dead gorgeous!

Isn't the brides dress just gorgeous? Aren't they such a pretty couple?

I love the stone backdrop, I think it accentuates the dress so well!

The Ceremony.....

Hi all,

Welcome back!!! We're on to the ceremony today of this fabulous wedding which took place in the Catholic Church of Santa Maria in Rhodes town! We made every effort to continue the whimsical colourful theme indoors!

We organised for very rustic containers with lavender and camomile to be placed down the aisle!

The bride's bouquet was made of peonies, roses and hybericum (I think that's how you spell it) and tied with raffia, I adore it!!! I also love the bride's green engagement ring, isn't it beautiful?

I love this picture!

Married at last, congratulations!!!

Getting Ready.....

Good morning all,

We begin our post on the absolutely gorgeous wedding that we presented on Friday, with the bride and her close friends and family getting ready!

Isn't the dress to die for? And if you read my blog, you will know that I have a "thing" about shoes, and adore coloured shoes at weddings! The bride had such fabulous style, it really was such a pleasure to work with her!

This was taken while she was getting her make up done, I love the quality of the picture as well!

Another favourite as the girls get ready!

This is the bride's parents,  the photographer captured them having a moment in the garden, how cute is that?

Finally she's ready to go, armed with her fan, as the day was quite warm!

I saved this touching picture for the last in this section, the bride is ready to go and giving her dad a kiss before setting off to the church!!!!

Fantasy wedding In Evia

Hi all,

I am continuing the fantasy theme, of venues that I feel would make incredible wedding venues!

Today I am going for a more conventional suggestion, a hotel in the region of Evia.

Ever since I saw this image of the hotel, I have imagined what an incredible wedding could be set up on the platform surrounded by water! I could see the civil wedding taking place here or a party (imagine the dancefloor being right on the end of the platform) and the reception meal!

Isn't this image inspiring? I could really imagine setting up a fabulous, minimal, modern, Greek island wedding reception here!

I am thinking ice cold cocktails, ouzo shots, Greek finger food and inspiring music!!!

Still inspiring.....

And the suites in the hotel are certainly luxurious, spacious and in keeping with the minimal theme of the hotel!

Can't wait to plan a wedding at this hotel!!! Drop me a line if you're interested!

Elafonissi fantasy wedding, Crete

Good afternoon all,

As mentioned I am having a little fantasy week, where I am posting on all the far fetched or l esser known areas in Greece that I would love to organise a wedding at!

Today we're headed over to the gorgeous island of Crete and one of the most gorgeous beaches in the country called Elafonissi, the translation is deer island, although it is actually a tiny sand island in the middle of the sea!

My idea would be to hold the wedding ceremony on this tiny island, followed by the reception on the beach, with bonfires, tikki lamps, great seafood, cocktails and elegant tables and chairs to contrast the informal surroundings!

I could even see a picnic set up for those wanting a really informal affair, blankets instead of tables and a picnic basket packed to the brim with yummy food! Sounds really amazing!

The secret is to choose high summer to ensure good weather, if possible an evening with a full moon and plenty of candlelight to create a really romantic atmosphere!

A night time dip is essential when choosing this option!

Only 5 klm away from Elafonissi beach, lies the incredible monastery of Panagia Chrysoskalitissa, so for those looking for a Greek Orthodox wedding, this would be an ideal combination.
